BOUNCE!

Sometimes mistakes happen... But, sometimes mistakes can make things even better than they were!

The tiny, little lizard just wanted to do something fun, but he went a bit too far. Thankfully, the nice lady wasn't mad and was able to fix things, and then had a great surprise for him!

BOUNCE!

The tiny, little lizard

Was bored beside his pond.

So he ventured to a new place,

And climbed upon a frond.

It seemed a little bouncy

And a whole lot of fun!

So he bounced a little higher

But his fun had just begun!

Bounce and bounce!

He went pretty high!

Bounce and bounce!

He felt he could fly!

Bounce and bounce!

Maybe just one more!

Bounce and CRACK!

He fell to the floor!

“Oh, no!” he cried.

“I’ve broken the frond!”

And away he scurried

Back to his pond.

“I hope that nice lady

Doesn’t get mad!”

And as tears filled his eyes,

He was really quite sad.

The nice lady came out

And looked on the ground.

Gently picked up the frond

But made not a sound.

With some water she placed

The frond into a cup.

And whispered, “Never. Not ever,

No, never give up!”

Then day after day,

And week after week,

To that frond in a cup,

The woman would speak.

Soft words to encourage,

And strengthen and grow.

And the lizard kept watching

From outside the window.

The small lizard had watched,

From outside by the pond,

All the care the nice lady

Had given the frond.

He’d moved closer and closer.

As the time did pass

‘Til one day he had felt

His nose on the glass.

That day she had lifted

The frond from the cup.

And he saw new roots

As she lifted it up!

She tenderly planted

That frond in a pot.

Then placed it close to him

In a bright, sunny spot.

The frond was so strong

From bottom to top

And his heart was so full

He thought it would pop!

He felt so much better

That he had a big smile

And he sat there, just looking,

For more than a while.

Then he noticed the lady

Was looking at him.

With kind, loving eyes,

And a small, little grin.

They looked at each other

And she gave him a wink,

Then turned and took something

From under the sink

Then placed on the table

Something he’d never seen

A tiny, little, lizard-sized

Fun trampoline!
